echoes of embodiment
contemporary dance film (2020)
Choreographed and performed by Nailah Renuka, this contemporary/modern dance film was inspired by the necessary but alienating isolation experienced by creatives & the strength and resilience that blossoms in the dark of isolation.

Originally created with Theatre Oculus as a part of their REVERB Digital Creation Residency (2020), this piece was reworked and refined for The Stages: De-centered (2020) with The And, Stage Company.
Special thanks to Drew Berry, Kanika Ambrose, and Myekah Payne for their generous mentorship in each step of this process.
